Jesus shared with His disciples, “Greater works than these shall you do…” Though we know that since we are saved by grace and not of works; we do believe that anyone that has received the Salvation of Christ should be compelled to do great work for Him and His Kingdom. As a result, the Works Ministry of “The Place of the Outpouring” finds creative ways to take the mission, the vision and the ministry of the Church beyond the four wall of the Church.

The Seeds of Destiny Ministry has continued its commitment to educational excellence through ACT preparation as well as Scholarship monies. Provided ACT workshops for students of the Memphis and surrounding areas for the last three years. The ACT workshop experienced wonderful success through the integration of technology and media. Seeds of Destiny also provide scholarships for college bound youth of the church, as well as gifts, and dorm supplies.
The Health Ministry continued to offer information to increase awareness about the health concerns plaguing our people and community. HIV screening, Cancer Awareness lectures as well as an awesome presence at the Health Fair. During this fair, we offered free health screenings, free teeth cleaning, and more. Lectures throughout the year included Prostate Awareness, Diabetes management and Heart Health. The ministry also led the innovative to partner with Congregational Health network thru Methodist Hospital and other community programs such as MIFA.

The Special Events Ministry coordinated many exciting events and trips, including; the PALMS trip to the William Jefferson Clinton Library and Museum, the annual church picnic and the Memphis Heritage Tours outing.
The Touch Ministry comprises people in the church body who simply work together to minster to the sick through a positive “touch.” We have incorporated several ministries for the purpose of touching our hospitalized, nursing home and the purpose of touching our hospitalized, nursing home and homebound members who are facing illness. Our “touches” include visits, phone calls, cards and gift bags.
